Masterpieces from the musée du quai Branly collections

Masterpieces was first published in 2006, for the opening of the Quai Branly Museum, and more than 50,000 copies have been sold. Here is the long-awaited second edition, which is dedicated to the Museum's finest masks.

This selection of 100 masks includes both the key pieces in the collection and unknown artworks that have been brought out of storage for the occasion. This world tour provides an original insight into the universal nature of the Museum's collections.

Each mask is accompanied by a precise and accessible text which provides an indispensable key to understanding the circumstances in which they were made and their function.
