The Ceramic Museum was created by Alexandre Brongniart, the son of the architect of the Paris Stock Exchange, and himself director of the Sèvres Porcelain Factory from 1800 to 1847. In an encyclopaedic spirit worthy of the eighteenth century, the museum has assembled an extraordinary collection of ceramic objects from all periods and places.
