The artist

Jean Paul Gaultier born in 1952)

Jean-Paul Gaultier is a designer, a great French fashion designer and perfume designer. Trained in renowned fashion houses such as Pierre Cardin, Jacques Esterel, or Jean Patou, he launched his first clothing collection in 1970. Ten years later, the artist's brand met with dazzling success. Jean-Paul Gaultier became a key figure in the wave of young designers who are re-inventing fashion. The couturier freed himself from all the codes and diktats of fashion : men are dressed as women and women as men. He is particularly famous for his seamstresses. Often referred to as "the terrible child of fashion", Jean-Paul Gaultier enjoys a worldwide reputation.
