Photoquai 2009

The second biennial festival devoted to photography from the non-Western world and created in 2007, Photoquai is a biennial event which takes place in Paris in odd-numbered years. This second festival continues the fundamental mission of Photoquai: to develop relationships with artists whose work has not previously been seen in Europe, and to encourage exchanges, a converging of different outlooks on the world.

The second festival will run from 22nd September to 22nd November 2009 (at the end of Paris Photo) on the banks of the Seine alongside the musée du quai Branly and in a large number of renowned Parisian institutions, the festival’s partners.

The 2009 festival will pay particular attention to ensuring the continuity between the exhibitions on the quays and the exhibitions inside the partner establishments, particularly at the musée du quai Branly, where the West gallery will present an exhibition on Iranian photography.
