This tie is inspired by an imperial nomination deed "mensûr" gone back to the reign of the thirty-fourth Ottoman Sultan, Abdûlhamid II (1876-1909), and relating to the nomination of the Governor of Romelia as a member of the Imperial Council of State.
It is described in "celî dîvânî", a writing specific to the Chancellery, which reached its peak during the 19th century. The style makes it possible to recognize the work of Nâsih Efendi (1814-1885) : the lines written alternatively in black ink and gold ink, form stretched ornamental patterns filled with a complex interlacing of letters and
words.
