This is the French edition of the catalogue published for the Le Néo-impressionnisme de Seurat à Paul Klee exhibition. It is divided in three parts:
*The first part brings together nine essays, written by specialists, about the different aspects of Neo-Impressionism in Europe (Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Italy). It also deals with its relationship to other currents, for example Fauvism. Other essays address the question of colour, the period critic’ reactions, or the Société des Artistes Indépendants (Society of Independent Artists). These essays are illustrated by comparison works to endorse the authors’ point.
*The second part brings together the notes for the 120 works presented at the exhibition. These major pieces, coming from many European and American museums und painted by neo-impressionist artists such as Seurat, Signac, Cross, Vlaminck, are reproduced in full page and in colour.
*The third and last part consists in the appendixes (chronology, biography) and the biographies of the exposed artists, themselves illustrated by a portrait of the artist.
