Japanese ceramics underwent many transformations since the war which played a dominating part in the evolution of world ceramics.

In the Twenties a movement in favour of the "studio potry" (ceramic of artist) was born and supported the development of an individual ceramics in total opposition with popular ceramics and the ceramics of workshop then of use.

This ceramics opened the way with a sculptural ceramics object movement, born in Kyoto in the Fifties. A great number of decorative techniques were developed in the Seventies and Eighties. In addition some were tried by an art of the provocation. Since the Nineties and 2000, the matters smooth and the porcelain return in force.
