This is the French edition of the book about French pieces belonging to the National Archives.

This book presents around 50 objects kept at the History of France museum national archives. Its collections are incredibly rich and include documents dated from the Merovingian period to the contemporary period.

The objects were selected following historic, aesthetic, rarity and originality criteria.

The authors chose a chronological presentation to describe the evolution over the centuries of types of objects in their documentary and material characteristics.

Each object is described in great detail and comes with a note on the historical context, the piece’s own history and its impact.

These documents are reproduced in colour and full-page. They also come with beautiful detail reproductions.
