Lucknow, a Royal Court of India (XVIIIth- XIXth century)

During the course of 18th- 19th century, a composite society, Indian and European at the same time, extraordinarily diverse and sophisticated, blossomed in the city of Lucknow, in North India.

The exhibition is presenting a large selection of artistic creations realized in this cosmopolitan city and opens the debate on the development of aesthetic traditions of the city. It also aims to show the composite nature of the city, Indian and European, from two point of views.
