The Marie-Antoinette Collection March 2009
We invite you to discover our new collection dedicated to Marie-Antoinette von Habsbourg-Lothringen (1755-1793), the Queen of France and wife of King Louis XVI. Marie-Antoinette had a great influence on the development of all the decorative arts of her time. Inspired by Marie-Antoinette, the RMN has created a whole new line of exclusive products that reflect her sensibility, refinement, creativity and femininity. The King's Herbarium March 2009
The RMN has created a new line of tableware called the King's Herbarium Collection. Our inspiration comes from six of the 319 engraved plates in the botanical work entitled "Recueil des Plantes du Roi Louis", now conserved in the Louvre Museum's copperplate engravings collection.
"Empire" New collection August 2008
Summer: Napoleon’s influence over Europe Bonaparte, made a Consul for life in 1802, reformed the country and its administration. He placed a prefect at the head of each department, reorganized the justice system, created an Imperial university and put the state in charge of public education. He founded the Bank of France in 1803 and created a new franc, the “Germinal franc”. Bonaparte also drew up the Civil Code of 1804 (equality before the law, abolition of privileges, etc.). In the same year, he became Emperor of the French under the name Napoleon I.
