That is how I see sculpture : a beautiful form, very simple and clear, that gives pleasure.
This is the first time that a book has dealt with Maillol's beginnings as a sculptor, focusing on the two men who helped him to spread his work. The idea for this collective work came from dealers and art historians. Indeed, the former gradually spotted works on the art market that formed an ensemble with particular aesthetic and technical characteristics. They then asked the latter for information, which had not yet been published, and which they found in various archives: their exchanges lasted about ten years.
