Their names are Suzanne Valadon, Tamara de Lempicka, Gerda Wegener, Kiki de Montparnasse... They are painters, photographers, sculptors, filmmakers. They bear witness to a new modernity where women can finally run a studio, paint naked bodies and even... wear trousers!
The artists of the Roaring Twenties and the decades that followed became true models of anticipation who allowed the evolution of some of the greatest avant-garde movements. They were the first generation of women to be able to enter art schools, following in the footsteps of Berthe Morisot or Rosa Bonheur. An exceptional album, with rich and varied iconography, which gives their place to women of incredible audacity, without whom today's art would not exist!
