Egyptian amulet Bracelet
Louvre Jewellery Collection
This bracelet is inspired by an Egyptian necklace belonging to the Louvre Museum.
The modern version of this necklace is composed of several amulets in various shapes and materials that can be dated to several periods.
Falcons, flies, fish, frogs, a grasshopper, the head of a hippopotamus, a small sphinx, lotus flowers, as well as a heart and a hand are assembled together.
The shape, material and colour were important features of these amulets, which were worn to guarantee protection, fertility, strength, and even rebirth.
