Bracelet from the Saint-Marc-le-Blanc treasure

  • € 149
This triple-twisted bracelet was inspired by a necklace from the Saint-Marc-le-Blanc treasure (Saint-Marc-le-Blanc, 12th-8th century BC (Final Bronze), 6th century BC). - Gold / Musée de Cluny - Musée national du Moyen Âge, Paris).

In 1854, a farmer discovered a clay vase in a hedge in the commune of Saint-Marc-le-Blanc.
It contained gold Celtic silverware: bracelets, rings, necklaces and coins.
This treasure dates partly from the Final Bronze Age (around 1200 - 800 BC): rings and other objects with a simple design; and partly from the 6th century BC: finer jewellery and ornaments, decorated with guilloche fillets, or twisted, such as this very beautiful triple-twisted necklace with a hook clasp.
