Eager to understand everything about the world, he alone embodies the spirit of the Renaissance and the construction of knowledge. Painter and sculptor, architect and musician, he worked for the great patrons of his time: Prince Julian de Medici in Florence, Duke Ludovico Sforza in Milan and Francis I. As an engineer, he invented incredible machines, such as a bridge that could be carried on a man's back and a screw to "screw" the air.
