A Historical Tale
This is a French-language book about Marie-Antoinette's life.
Marie-Antoinette is a little princess. She lives with her fifteen brothers and sisters in Vienna and at the royal family's summer palace.
Carefree and unmindful of her future, the charming girl is happy and mischievous. At six years of age, she meets Mozart. She likes to play theatre and gallop through the fields.
And why not go for a sleigh ride? Mmmm. It is snack time! There is so much happiness to share!
When she is thirteen years old, the young princess has to leave her family, her friends and her country to become the Dauphine of France. Another life begins, one where the extremely boring "Madame Etiquette" runs a tight ship.
To forget all that, Marie-Antoinette amuses herself at the Paris Opera ball or by playing games of chance. And she follows fashion with passion! Her hairdresser, Leonard, creates hairstyles full of fancy while her dressmaker, Rose, designs the most sumptuous dresses!
Once she becomes queen, however, Marie-Antoinette prefers her quiet life at the Petit Trianon, her rural residence, surrounded by her children who fill her life with affection.
Yet, already, there are the rumblings of a storm looming in the distance.
This book lets children discover Marie-Antoinette's childhood, fashion, tastes and happy moments.
