The result of a collaboration between the poet Paul Eluard, the photographer Man Ray and the printer-publisher Guy Lévis Mano, Facile, the book of artists par excellence, is reissued here in a facsimile with an exceptional production, faithful to the original edition.
An ode to woman, in the guise of Nusch, muse of the poet and model of the photographer, Facile staged the love grip. Five poems by Eluard follow the sinuous contours of the female body, magnified by Man Ray.
The reissue of this collection, 25 copies of which were printed on Imperial Japan in 1935, consists of a cover filled with a lead composition by Guy Lévis Mano photographed by Man Ray, a photograph signed by the photographer and twelve black and white photographs reproduced in rotogravure.
This facsimile of copy number 1 of the original edition, kept at the Bibliothèque nationale de France and signed by the poet and photographer, is accompanied by a booklet written by Nicole Boulestreau, a specialist in Paul Eluard's work.
