DVD - Other Peoples
Since the 15th century and the discovery of the New World, the history of human beings has been deeply marked by the expansionist attitude of the West which tried to impose its economic, religious and political model on other societies that, for the most part, did not survive this contact. These peoples' imagination, however, continued through the works they created, which are now exhibited in the greatest museums.
For the first time, a film tells the story of the tormented history of the West's encounters with First Peoples and measures the distance travelled until the recognition of these other peoples, who were called "primitive" for far too long.
This film by Michel Viotte can be viewed in English or French. It comes with a catalogue of more than 70 works accompanied by detailed information.
