Marie-Antoinette - Powdered Rose - Félix Lecomte
Each reproduction was made from a mould made using the 3D impression technique on the original kept at Versailles in the Queen's bedroom. Each copy is signed and dated by the hand of the skater.
Marie-Antoinette knew how to surround herself with the most talented artists of the time, such as Félix Lecomte who made his bust in Carrara marble in 1783. The Queen of France is represented in all the dignity of her office. She is draped in the royal coat decorated with flowers and lined with ermine. Her high wig, fashionable at the time, is enriched with flowers, including a finely worked rose, held by a ribbon. At her neck, the sovereign wears a medallion with the profile of Louis XVI.
Queen for nine years and mother of two children, Marie-Antoinette is only twenty-eight years old. The artist brings out the freshness of her youth in the graceful bearing of her head and the slight smile that animates her face.
