From 1982 onwards, Diego Giacometti created some fifty pieces of furniture for the Picasso Museum. These benches, tables and lighting fixtures marked the culmination of his work and were his last creations, since the artist died in July 1985, two months before the museum opened.
His work reveals a dreamlike universe where the plant and animal worlds are linked to geometric forms. True "furniture-sculptures", the works of Diego Giacometti dialogue in harmony with those of Picasso, within the Hôtel Salé.
For the first time, this book compares this furniture with the various preparatory plasters, while the intimacy of his creative process is revealed through the lens of Laurence Berthon-Marceillac, Frédéric Brollo and Martine Franck.
