Throughout his career, Miró (Barcelona, 1893-Palma de Mallorca, 1983) travelled back and forth between Barcelona (the city where he was born on 20 April 1893, Passatge del Crèdit, 4.), Montroig, a small village in Tarragona, Paris, so decisive in the evolution of his work, Varengeville-sur-mer where he went into exile for some time and where he made the admirable continuation of the Constellations, and finally Palma de Mallorca, where he had his dream workshop built.
The artist's life is thus traced back to the places where he set up his workshops, thus showing the close link between the particular places where he will work and the emergence of the elements that will build his painting and his personal language. Each of these places will participate in its evolution and help it to develop its creative capacities.
