The Supermarket of Images - Exhibition catalogue
In a world saturated with images, where art and the economy maintain complex relationships, the commodification of the visible becomes a major issue. At a time when screens are proliferating, new issues related to the storage of images, their management, their circulation and their value are emerging; the raw materials that compose them and the work, human or otherwise, that participates in their creation are among the themes explored in this book.
The photographs, drawings, paintings, videos, films, digital works and multimedia installations presented here are all ways of addressing this question: are our perception of images and our relationship to aesthetics shaped by the contemporary economic system?
