"Menu pour la table du Roy" Apron
Pascale Brun d'Arre
Inspired by an 18th century manuscript featuring a royal menu.
This apron reproduces a 1747 parchment, preserved in the Historical Library of Paris. This calligraphy menu details with each of these five services, the six to eight dishes presented to the King.
Any one of his subjects could come and see the monarch eat, on condition of being dressed worthily and carrying a sword.
