Pablo Picasso (1881-1973)
Pablo Ruiz Picasso was born in Malaga on 25 October 1881. A painter and sculptor who was part of the varied artistic movements of the 20th century.
The artist's inspiration comes from other cultures and periods, such as the Iberian, African and medieval times. His family played a very important role in his work, as for a period of time, some of his collections were centred on them, with his partner Marie-Thérèse Walter and his daughter Maya being two of his great muses.
The artist died in Mougins, France, at the age of 91 and was buried at the Château de Vauvenargues.
