Exceptional women in the Middle Ages
This book is a wager to present the lives of women, famous or unknown, in the Middle Ages, as some of them marked their time: queens, saints, writers, adventurers.
Medieval chronicles evoke the figures of Clothilde, Radegonde, Joan of Arc or Isabella of France, but the question of the role of women in history is never asked, as they are not considered autonomous.
Yet medieval women have their own history, and there are many who rightly deserve to be presented to the general public. Strong women, mystics, discoverers, feminists, these ladies of the Middle Ages are as close as they are distant.
