Léonard de Vinci et le mystère Chambord
2019: "Vinci Year" and "Chambord Year" The five hundred years of Vinci's death and the construction of Chambord Castle are jointly commemorated throughout this year.
The book recounts the highlights of Leonardo da Vinci's journey, who came to spend the last three years of his life in France, in Amboise, near his protector, the young King Francis I, then at the height of his glory.
This book, which reads like a novel, explores what can be called "the Chambord mystery", never elucidated until now. The world-famous castle is built after sketches left by Vinci, including the famous monumental double-revolution staircase, which is its centrepiece.
Why did Leonardo design such a plan so different from those of other Renaissance castles? What message, what intellectual, spiritual, symbolic, esoteric testament did he want to leave us by placing at the heart of this building this extraordinary staircase which, in fact, leads nowhere?
