So far, so close. To end prehistory
Jean-Michel Geneste was curator of the Lascaux cave and coordinated the research in the Chauvet cave.
He also travels the world - from the Dordogne to British Columbia, Australia, Papua New Guinea and Altai - in the footsteps of hunter-gatherers of yesterday or today, their techniques and rock art in their splendour and diversity.
He tells here his research to Boris Valentin, professor of prehistoric archaeology, and both share their passion for the very ancient history of humanity, for great distances that have become very close to them.
Such familiarity requires pushing the study sometimes to the limits of what is perceptible. This is one of the wonders that this book aims to share.
