The Impressionists in 1886 - Félix Fénéon
This text, now considered to be a work of primary importance, is, in fact, the manifesto of neo-impressionism. This brochure was published by the magazine La Vogue - of which Félix Fénéon was the main contributor - in 227 copies. It is his only published work during his lifetime.
It presents the work of Degas, Renoir, Pissaro, Cassat, Morisot, Caillebotte, Dubois-Pillet, Estoppey, Forain, Gauguin, Guillaumin, Monet, Raffaelli, Seurat, Signac, Angrand, Zandiomeneghi during the famous 1886 exhibitions.
This rare work, unknown to the general public, has not been the subject of a classical reissue with wide circulation since the beginning of the 20th century. L'Esprit du Temps invites you to discover this text illustrated with some paintings by the "impressionists" and "neo-impressionists" mentioned in the book.
