The LaM offers a new tour of the work of Paul Klee (1879-1940), a prolific German painter, printmaker and writer. The author of nearly 10,000 works, an elusive and unclassifiable artist, and a professor at the Bauhaus during the interwar period, the painter-theorist developed a singular approach to colour.
From Cubism to Primitivism to Constructivism, Beaux Arts Editions looks back at his entire creative career. Up to the years of crisis and exile, each key period of his life is explored through his greatest masterpieces and his various means of expression (painting, lithography, engraving, drawings, texts).
Exhibition at the LaM, from 19 November 2021 to 27 February 2022
