Bronze Pendant Oscillum
According to "Cupid riding a dolphin", visible at the Museo Nazionale Archeologico in Naples, this oscillum was discovered hanging from a tree in front of Diomede's villa in Pompeii in 1771.
The oscilla oscillate with the wind and were worthy of offerings to the gods. The theme of Cupid was very present in Pompeii, notably in a large fresco discovered in 2018 in the Reggio V.
Handcrafted reproduction by Francesco Pavan, Italian goldsmith specializing in ancient Roman art.
