This rigid necklace is decorated with fine chiselling done with punches and carving tools. During excavations, the original torque necklace was found with other artefacts deposited on the edge of a wetland. In the Bronze Age, people buried treasures, probably offerings to gods, in the ground or in riverbeds.
The deposit, buried around 1200-1100 B.C., included a bracelet, two other torque necklaces and a belt, all made of gold.
