Book published on the occasion of the exhibition "Versailles ville nature", presented from May 3 to July 13, 2019 at the Espace Richaud, Versailles
Since its "creation" by Louis XIV, the city of Versailles has witnessed a harmonious marriage between nature and architecture. On the occasion of the International Biennale of Architecture and Landscape that the city is hosting, the book offers a retrospective of the outstanding projects and achievements in architectural and landscape design that, since 2010, have made Versailles a "laboratory" for a new urban model.
The veil is lifted on the exceptional "architecture collection" that Versailles has acquired over the past ten years, by associating great names and young talents and by practicing "urban acupuncture". The latter consists in choosing creative projects that are always respectful of a heritage environment that is unique in the world.
The book also highlights the major development projects that will mark the urban space of Versailles in the coming years and make it one of the poles of the "Greater Paris": some already widely involved such as those of the Chantiers district, others yet to come such as in Pion, Satory and Saint-Louis.
