The entire Centre Pompidou celebrates comics and offers an unprecedented dive into the modern and contemporary history of the 9th art. From the Franco-Belgian clear line to Japanese manga, from the graphic abundance of the underground to the most abstract contemporary styles, the Center Pompidou favors diversity, presenting large sets of plates, cover designs, notebooks, as well as documentation elements. The exhibition also brings into dialogue the three main centers of expression of comics - European creation, Asian mangas and American comics. All the big names in comics will be together!

The exhibition offers unexpected echoes between the authors, focusing on a few emblematic works. These encounters are formed around the themes of dreams, laughter, anticipation, intimate or memorial stories. Plates, cover drawings, notebooks, documentation, audiovisual devices with the broadcast of unpublished author interviews, will be presented. Digital creation is also exhibited with new wall creations by Blutch and Chris Ware, which open and end the exhibition tour. Beaux Arts Éditions looks back on sixty years of comics around the world.
