The Gustave Moreau Museum preserves many non-figurative works. Over time, the viewer's view of these enigmatic works has evolved. In 1961, the painter Paul Jenkins wondered: Is Gustave Moreau the controversial grandfather of abstraction? The exhibition allows us to question the status of these works, which also inform us about the artist's creative process.
