Pierre Patel is a 17th century French painter.
He is considered to be one of the most gifted landscape painters of his time, he mainly painted landscapes and ruins.
However, he also worked on a series of views of Versailles during the reign of Louis XIII and Louis XIV, thus providing a precious testimony of a lost state of the castle for the history of art.
