Gustave Serrurier-Bovy (1858-1910)

Gustave Serrurier-Bovy is one of the main representatives of Art Nouveau. The artist began his career as an architect before moving into furniture making, with which he enjoyed great success during his lifetime. The artist alternated in his creations between a very refined Art Nouveau style with curves and plant motifs and an industrial and functional aesthetic. Adept of simplicity in decoration, he adopted industrial techniques very early on, becoming a precursor of modern design.
