Born during the reign of Louis XV and coming from the lower middle class, Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun painted the most famous portraits of Marie Antoinette.
At the Revolution, she travelled the roads of exile, returning under the Empire, and participating in the Restoration and July Monarchy. Feted in all the courts of Europe, the artist executed 650 portraits and 150 drawings, earning some of the highest fees of her time.
The film traces the nearly 90 years of her life, a true adventure novel!
