The blue hour of Peder Severin Krøyer - Exhibition catalogue
The Musée Marmottan Monet presents the first monographic exhibition ever devoted in France to one of the greatest masters of Danish painting, Peder Severin Krøyer (1851-1909). A contemporary of Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916), Peder Severin Krøyer is to the outdoors what his contemporary was to the indoor scene.
More than sixty masterpieces from the Skagen Museum - depositary of one of the artist's first world collections - the Göteborg Museum, as well as museums in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Alkersum/Föhr, Lübeck, Kiel, Budapest and Paris honour this remarkable interpreter of the blue hour, the meteorological phenomenon that precedes twilight and unfolds above all on the far northern shores of the sea.
