Louis XIV Stole
This stole is inspired by the decoration of the King's Chamber at the Palace of Versailles.
King's Chamber - Versailles, Museum of the Castles of Versailles and Trianon
In 1701, Louis XIV transferred his room to a living room facing the rising sun. Decorated with a sumptuous decoration of brocade of gold and silver on a crimson background, this piece became the centre of the castle, from the rising ceremony to the King's bedtime ceremony. Louis XIV died there in 1715.
