Reproduction patinated by hand. Mold made from an imprint of the original work exhibited at the Louvre.
Seated Scribe, 4th or 5th Dynasty, 2600-2350. Paris, Louvre Museum. Original in polychrome limestone
This scribe owes its celebrity to its realism, accentuated by the good preservation of its polychromy and the mystery surrounding its discovery. The particular care given to this sculpture suggests that it is a very high dignitary of the Old Kingdom.
