The album of "Disegni di Antonio Pallaiuolo(?) 1429-1498"
In 1922, a well-known portraitist and immense collector, Léon Bonnat, bequeathed to the Louvre a collection of twenty-three drawings entitled Disegni di A. Pollaivolo (?) 1429 + 1498.
Despite the album's title, modern critics attribute it to Maso Finiguerra, who has gone down in history as having invented the art of engraving. The study presents a profile of the two artists and a reconstruction of the history of the collection.
