White & Golden Renaissance Circle Earrings - Florence Buhler
Collection from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance
A sign of power and wealth, pearls were reserved for the elite in the Middle Ages. Symbols of a royalty that was becoming more and more established, pearls were immortalised in large tapestries and by court portraitists, they were found enhancing the collar of the Lady with Unicorn.
With the commercial opening of Europe, the discovery of America and the opening of new routes to India, pearls flowed into the kingdom at the beginning of the Renaissance.
This collection of jewellery made of glass beads woven by hand in France is inspired by the delicate beadwork trimmings that generously adorned the clothing of the powerful at that time.
Your glass bead earrings have been hand woven in our workshop in France.
Mounted on golden brass hoop earrings, they are light and easy to wear on a daily basis.
