Although exhibitions on the origins of cinema have multiplied over the last twenty years, they have mainly focused on the technological component of its invention. The Musée d'Orsay is taking a completely different approach and intends to bring together French film production from 1895-1907 with the history of the arts, from the invention of photography to the early years of the 20th century.
Beaux arts Éditions looks back at the unintentional influences, the deliberate borrowings, the contemporary coincidences which the emerging medium is enriched by in the vicinity of the Beaux Arts.
