What I do here will at least have the merit of being like nothing else, at least I believe so, because it will simply be the expression of what I, and only I, have felt.

Note also how Monet directs his brushstrokes, vertically to show the reflection of trees or how the roots of the water lilies rise, you feel his stroke going up or down thanks to his paintbrush more or less loaded with colour ; horizontally to evoke calm water ; slanted strokes to show stems swayed by the wind.
