Western Railways. Exposition Universelle of 1900
This poster for the Chemins de fer de l'Ouest, printed for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, shows the upper part of the Seine bordered by the official foreign pavilions built for the event (the Italian pavilion can be seen on the left), and the lower part of the Champs-Elysées district with the Petit and Grand Palais on either side of Avenue Alexandre III (later Avenue Winston-Churchill). Walked by visitors, it leads in the background to the Pont Alexandre-III and the Invalides.
