WRITTEN IN FRENCH
Illustrated by more than one hundred and thirty works, the work Miró. A brazier of signs offers a panorama of the work of Joan Miró in the collections of the National Museum of Modern Art - Center Pompidou supplemented by those of the Grenoble museum and the Miró Foundation in Barcelona.
From his youth in Catalonia to his move to Paris in the early 1920s, at the height of surrealism, to his final years in Palma de Mallorca, Miró. A blaze of signs emphasizes the subversive force and incandescence of its creation, a complex and dual mythology where azure rubs shoulders with darkness, where the spirit of childhood does not exclude inner demons. In particular, it offers a privileged look at the painter's last period, that of the 1960s and 1970s, marked by an extraordinary creative freedom.
Exhibition « Miró. Un brasier de signes » at the musée de Grenoble from 20 April to 21 July 2024.
