A great art historian looks back at his career through fifty or so emblematic or lesser-known paintings, mainly chosen from his period known as the Pont-Aven School. There, surrounded by a few artists (Bernard, Sérusier, Filiger...), he invented a brand new "synthesist" style that revolutionised painting.
