For more than two centuries, the molding workshop of the Rmn-GP has been reproducing masterpieces of sculpture from antiquity to the present day. Founded in 1794 to extend the missions of the Louvre Museum, its vocation is to spread moldings of great fidelity. It preserves and exploits one of the largest collections in the world consisting of more than 6,000 molds made from original sculptures held in the largest French and European collections. The workshop combines handwork and cutting-edge approach: from the production of a traditional mold to 3D scanning for making prints. The know-how of the patina brings the final touch to restore all the nuances of the originals. Located in Saint-Denis, this workshop has become a conservatory of excellence skills. It allows institutions and professionals of history to acquire copies of art but also private individuals or the most sophisticated decorators.

The Rmn-GP chalcography workshop preserves and operates a collection of more than 14,000 engraved plates, the oldest dating back to the 17th century and most often on copper: "chalcography" is a term taken from the Greek "chalkos", copper, and "graphein", write. Founded during the Revolution, the Chalcography of the Louvre was entrusted with a transmission objective, at a time when the print were the only technical mean to reproduce images, including those of the masterpieces of the young museum. Over time, Chalcography was enriched with new plaques through acquisitions, orders, donations and deposits. Today, it continues to grow thanks to orders of the Louvre from contemporary artists. Custodians of traditional know-how, the printers continue to draw these prints from the original plates on the historic presses of the art workshop now located in Saint-Denis.

Since 1946, the photographic agency has been promoting and broadcasting the photographic material which it realizes the shots and those whose valorization is entrusted to it. It gathers collections of national museums, the Louvre, Orsay, Versailles, Pompidou, Quai Branly, but also Cluny, Saint-Germain-en-Laye, and regional museums such as the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, museums of the city of Marseille, etc. Today, it manages a catalog of nearly 1.2 million digitized images, from prehistory to the present days, of which 1 million are available on its website for image professionals (publishing, press, audiovisual, products in particular), and on its general public site. The Photo Agency has always been at the forefront of image technology. In recent years this evolution has resulted in a transition to all digital, the arrival of images in giga pixels - the very high definition - as well as reproductions in 3D.
