Her name most often sounds like that of one of the favourite models of artists at the turn of the 20th century, such as Renoir or Toulouse-Lautrec... Or like that of the mother of the painter Maurice Utrillo... But Suzanne Valadon (1865-1938) is at the origin of a work of art in her own right, and what a work! Self-taught, inspired by the artists for whom she posed, she gradually forged an original style, on the fringe of the movements of her time.
