WRITTEN IN FRENCH
This book provides a read of all of Magritte's writings. It brings together texts published during his lifetime, including interviews, as well as unpublished texts which Magritte one day considered publishing. Also recalled, in chronological order, are the tracts, manifestos and other writings that Magritte, without being the author, countersigned. Although it excludes private correspondence, even published, this collection nevertheless retains a small number of letters whose theoretical importance or poetic form justified their presence in this corpus. Various "remarks", that is to say undated words, reported conversations, whatever the rigor of the expression and the fidelity of the memory, also appear there. Finally, we will find the reminder of "scattered texts" ¿ taken from articles and monographic books to which the relative abundance of quotations from Magritte gives a more or less anthological character ¿, as well as the apocryphal texts lent to Magritte.
